MEDIA RELEASE

The Hon Robin Adams, Minister for Cultural Heritage and Community Services, advised today that a web page has been created which will assist potential new residents and investors to access relevant information about Norfolk Island as a place to live and invest.

“This new web presence will be a useful resource for people to access information to help them understand the recent changes to the Immigration Act 1980”, the Minister said.

“The web page can be viewed at www.norfolkisland.com.au/about-norfolk/live-and-invest and the promotional material on the site can be downloaded. I encourage all local businesses to ‘spread the word’ by creating a link to the new web page on their business websites”, Ms Adams said.

An advertisement will be appearing in the Sydney Sunday Telegraph and Brisbane Sunday Mail this weekend and new advertisements will be published in these papers on 12 January and 16 February 2014.

“The Norfolk Island Government and Administration continue to work on a promotion strategy to attract new residents and investors to the island in line with the Norfolk Island Government ‘Sustainable Growth Strategy’.

On behalf of the Norfolk Island Government I extend appreciation to the Commonwealth Government for the significant financial contribution provided towards this promotion strategy”, the Minister said.
